Hemoglobin Meters

The hemoglobin meter range
This page covers hemoglobin meters, instruments that measure hemoglobin concentration in whole blood. The company's category page names three hemoglobin meter models: HB-101 and HB-201/202. Of those, only HB-101 has a specification table on the company's website whose page title and body agree, and only HB-101 has a dedicated specification page on this site. HB-201 and HB-202 are directory listings from the category page; no specification table for them is published here, and the HB-101 specification must not be read as applying to them.
Hemoglobin reference ranges published on the company's category page are given as general information only: men 130–170 g/L, women 120–150 g/L, infants 140–220 g/L, children 110–140 g/L, with samples of fingertip capillary and venous whole blood. Those ranges are category-page information, not a statement about any individual result, and they do not replace professional medical guidance.
HB-101 at a glance
The HB-101 specification page on this site reproduces the model's specification table exactly as listed on the company's website, including sample type of capillary and venous whole blood, memory of 1000 tests, a 10 microlitre sample size, 2xAAA batteries, HS-101 strip type, a measuring range of 4.5–25.6 g/dL, 45–256 g/L and 2.8–15.9 mmol/L, dimensions of 126 x 57 x 24 mm, and a weight of 185 grams with battery. The highlights listed on the company's detail page include 1000 test memories, a small blood sample size, a large LCD, automatic switch-off and a deluxe carry case.
One figure on the HB-101 source material is recorded as frozen in parallel rather than resolved. The highlights on the company's detail page state a result in 15 seconds, while a specification column lists a figure of under 10 seconds under a column heading that appears to be mislabelled. Both figures are shown on the HB-101 page as listed, and neither is used alone as a selling claim on this site.
Questions to confirm before ordering
For HB-201 and HB-202, specifications, strip type and availability must be confirmed in writing, because no specification table for those models is published on the company's website. For HB-101, strip type HS-101 and quality control solution type HC-101 are listed on the specification page, and buyers should still confirm strip supply, packing and current availability in writing before ordering.
The company FAQ states that prices vary with supply and market factors, that international orders are subject to an ongoing minimum order requirement with no fixed figure published, that samples take about 7 days, and that mass production takes 20–30 days after deposit. Certificates are available upon request.
How hemoglobin meters are used
Hemoglobin meters are used where a quick hemoglobin reading is needed outside a central laboratory: in clinics, in community screening, and in home-use settings. The reading comes from a small whole-blood sample applied to a strip, and the meter reports a hemoglobin concentration in grams per decilitre, grams per litre or millimoles per litre. The HB-101 specification page lists all three units, which reflects the different unit conventions used in different markets.
For trade buyers, the unit question is practical rather than academic: a meter shipped to one market may need to report in one unit, while the same meter shipped elsewhere reports in another. Unit options, like strip supply and packing, should be confirmed in writing for the specific order.
Directory models versus specified models
The distinction between a directory listing and a specified model is central to this site. HB-101 is a specified model because its specification table on the company's website has a title and a body that agree. HB-201 and HB-202 are directory listings because they appear on the company's category page without a usable specification table. That distinction protects buyers: it prevents a specification belonging to one model from being silently transferred to another.
Buyers asking about HB-201 or HB-202 should name the model in the inquiry and ask for its specification, strip type, packing and availability to be confirmed in writing. Until that confirmation is given, no figure on this site should be read as applying to those models.
